Grange Insurance Association is happy announce this year’s application session for our annual academic scholarships. We are proud to be able to provide academic scholarships to students attending an accredited institution of higher education. Any institution offering courses that lead to a certificate or degree in a recognized profession, such as community college, business college, state or private four-year institutions, and technical institutes, are eligible.
Grange Insurance Association established its scholarship fund in 1965 with just a few hundred dollars in rewards. That fund has grown each year, with over $30,000 in grants today, allowing us to send more students from the communities in which we do business to colleges and universities all over the world.
The scholarship funds are awarded for the fall quarter of the 2016 academic year we are offering two types of scholarships: academic and vocational. We will be awarding 22 academic and 3 vocational scholarships, each with a top winner who will receive $2,500. Remaining winners will receive between $1,000 and $2,000 each.
To be eligible for these scholarships applicants must be either a Grange Insurance policy holder or the dependent of a Grange Insurance policy holder, a Grange Insurance employee or dependent of an employee, or a previous recipient of a Grange Insurance Association scholarship. Please note that children or legal wards of officers, directors, or agents of GIA are ineligible.
Applications must be postmarked no later than March 1st, 2016, and need to include a complete scholarship application, a current, official transcript from the highest institution that the applicant has attended (high school or college), and an essay. Recipients will be notified in mid-April and their scholarship funds made available by September 2016.
The essay should describe yourself, your family, your experience in leadership or volunteering, and your future goals. Tell us about the college, university, or trade school you are attending or plan to attend, and, specifically, how this scholarship will aid you in achieving your goals.
Our annual scholarships are another way Grange Insurance Association aims to support the communities in which we live and work.
We encourage you to share the application with friends and family who have dependents preparing for higher education, or who are planning on enrolling higher education themselves.
