2019 Academic & Vocational Scholarships

Since 1965, Grange Insurance Association has been awarding annual scholarship funds to students pursuing higher education and we are incredibly proud of the impact this program has had on our local communities.

We are currently accepting applications for our 2019 scholarship program. To qualify, applicants must be current GIA policyholders or dependents of policyholders in California, Colorado, Idaho, Oregon, Washington, or Wyoming; current GIA employees or their dependents; or a previous winner of a GIA scholarship.

This year, we will be awarding a total of twenty-five scholarships in two categories: academic and vocational. The winner of each category will be awarded $2,500. The remaining scholarship winners will receive $1,000-$2,000. Winners of the scholarship must use the funds for tuition at an accredited community college, technical institute, or university.

How to Apply

To apply, applicants should mail completed applications by March 1, 2019, to Grange Insurance Association, Scholarship Committee, P.O. Box 21089, Seattle, Washington 98111-3089.

Include the following for consideration:

  • A completed scholarship application form
  • An official copy of your most recent transcript (either high school or college)
  • A personal essay telling us about yourself, your leadership and volunteer experience, your future goals and how this scholarship will help you achieve them.

Completed applications postmarked by March 1, 2019, will be reviewed and scored by our scholarship committee. The winners will be selected and notified in mid-April and funds will be distributed before September 2019. If you have any questions about whether you qualify or about the application and selection process, contact the Scholarship Coordinator at 800.247.2643 (ext. 2200).
